The Who's Tommy was produced at the Richard Montleban Theatre in Los Angeles and starred Alice Ripley. The production had a large budget and I was in charge of costuming a full cast with multiple changes. I also managed a crew of 6 including an assistant designer. cThe show was done in a pseudo-hipster/ punk vibe that incorporated the silhouettes of the 1960's while brining in modern, and even futuristic elements. The Walkers , with the exception of Tommy, stayed trapped in the 1960's while the world around then flared with modern dress. Tommy was clad in grays while younger and eventually turns to white as his innocence returns. |
