Peter and the Starcatcher- A Sustainable Production
Undergraduate Research Summer 2015
In the summer of 2015 I took part in Undergraduate Research with my student Brandie Heims. With funding from the Margaret A. Cargill foundation Central College sponsored myself and Brandie to do research on sustainability in the Theatre Department. Though we did look at all aspects of sustainability within the department, we focused on doing and energy audit with a detailed look at our stage and task lighting. You may download the links below to see samples from that research in various stages of completion. Documents include: Rough research narrative by myself, graphs that illustrate our findings, poster by Brandie Heims that she used for presenting her research to the school in the Fall.

Topics Course- THEA 290 Sustainability in Theatre Fall 2015
I have created a Sustainability in Theatre course that focuses on all production aspects of theatre and ways to make them more sustainable. The course teaches methods of approaching, developing, communicating, collaborating, researching and completing sustainable theatrical pieces. It was given a "Global Sustainability"(GS) core designation for the school and was developed, in part, during a summer workshop offered by Central to incorporate sustainability into areas outside of the science. Please feel free to download and look at the syllabus (below).
